The Action Committee for Rural Electrification (ACRE®) is the federal Political Action Committee (PAC) of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). ACRE raises personal, voluntary contributions from NRECA’s eligible membership. Federal law prohibits soliciting contributions from individuals other than NRECA and member-systems’ eligible employees, boards of directors, consumer-owners, and the families of such individuals. Contributions to ACRE are deductible (Use AR 1800 Form) from state income tax. In other words, eligible cooperative employees can join and support the organization at no out-of-pocket expense.

Through ACRE, cooperatives ensure that they are playing a vital part in the political process. Involvement in the political process is the only way electric cooperatives can make sure their voices are heard.

ACRE’s strength comes from you and your commitment to cooperative rural electrification. It is each individual’s membership that helps us stand together and allows ACRE to remain strong and promote the legislative objectives of the rural electric program.

Contributions to the NRECA Action Committee for Rural Electrification® (ACRE®) are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contributions to ACRE® are voluntary and will be used for political purposes. You have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. Any contribution guidelines presented are merely suggestions. You are free to contribute more or less than the suggested amounts, or not at all. NRECA will not favor or disadvantage anyone by reason of the amount contributed or a decision not to contribute.

*Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200.
