Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) continues to be recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Arkansas in Arkansas Business magazine’s eighth annual contest. AECC has won the award three times over the past five years.
According to Buddy Hasten, president/CEO of AECC, the award reflects the cooperative spirit of AECC’s employees.

As a local, not-for-profit generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative, AECC provides wholesale energy and transmission services to Arkansas’ 17 electric distribution cooperatives that serve more than 1.2 million consumers. AECC is also one of the leading G&Ts in the nation in many areas, including wholesale power cost.
According to Arkansas Business, the survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Arkansas, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 40 companies with AECC being one of the 2020 winners.
According to Arkansas Business, the Best Places to Work contest involves a two-part survey process. One component evaluates the company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The final component is an employee survey to measure employees’ workplace experience and is worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation.
